The joy of the gospel fills the hearts\u00a0and lives of all who encounter Jesus.\u00a0Those who accept his offer of salvation\u00a0are set free from sin, sorrow, inner\u00a0emptiness and loneliness. With Christ\u00a0joy is constantly born anew.<\/p>\n

I dream of a \u201cmissionary option\u201d,\u00a0that is, a missionary impulse capable\u00a0of transforming everything, so that\u00a0the Church\u2019s customs, ways of doing\u00a0things, times and schedules, language\u00a0and structures can be suitably channeled\u00a0for the evangelization of today\u2019s\u00a0world rather than for her self-preservation.\u00a0The renewal of structures demanded\u00a0by pastoral conversion can only be\u00a0understood in this light: as part of an\u00a0effort to make them more mission-oriented, to make ordinary pastoral activity\u00a0on every level more inclusive and\u00a0open, to inspire in pastoral workers a\u00a0constant desire to go forth and in this\u00a0way to elicit a positive response from\u00a0all those whom Jesus summons to friendship\u00a0with himself. Lord, make me an instrument of\u00a0thy peace.
\nWhere there is hatred, let me sow love;
\nWhere there is injury, pardon;
\nWhere there is doubt, faith;
\nWhere there is despair, hope;

\nO Divine Master, grant that I may not\u00a0so much seek

\nTo be understood as to understand,
